Performing is what music is about. Opportunities for performance are numerous for Baylor string students.
All graduate, BM and BME string students are required to perform solo literature
at least once every semester on a String Hour, a weekly concert attended by all string students. Also, each semester string students
are nominated by faculty to perform on a school wide convocation, or
the Dean's Honor Concert.
Additionally, students perform in chamber music concerts, orchestra concerts, and junior, senior, and graduate recitals. Many students take advantage of opportunies to perform additional special recitals outside of the degree program requirements.
Baylor also holds a yearly concerto competition providing winners the opportunity to perform a complete concerto with the Baylor Symphony.
