About Us Epsilon Chi The long awaited dream finally became a reality for the Kappa Delta alumnae of Waco on September 16, 1983. This was the day of the open house party for the colonization of a Kappa Delta Chapter at Baylor University. The next day, the founding members of Epsilon Chi received their bids, marking the beginning of a whirlwind of fun activities which would last a lifetime. Epsilon Chi's first semester was filled with excitement for the founding sisters. Among other honors, the girls received a First Place Spirit award in Sigma Chi’s Derby Days, and had three sisters nominated for Baylor’s Homecoming Queen. Plus, Epsilon Chi had their first Fall Casual on December 3, “Saturday Night Hay Fever,” where sisters and their dates went on hayrides and horseback riding, and danced to a live country western band. Epsilon Chi's first Formal Rush came in January of 1984, and never in all of their wildest dreams could the sisters imagine what it would be like. Other sororities warned that this week would cause dissension and hard feelings between members, but the Kappa Delta sisters found just the opposite to be true. They were amazed and pleased to find the love within their sisterhood to be more than adequate to cover any problems that arose. After the parties, the sisters of Epsilon Chi took time to pray for their incoming pledges; there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. The next day they held an Acceptance party at the Lion’s Club. Epsilon Chi had the distinct honor of having been the first newly colonized sorority at Baylor to achieve quota during their first formal rush. They took 55 fantastic pledges. Epsilon Chis on Campus
