The Baylor University Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic (BSLHC) provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment to patients of all ages with difficulties in communication processes or swallowing. We are dedicated to providing the highest standard of care. The range of services for speech, language, and hearing provided includes screenings, comprehensive evaluations for speech and hearing , habilitation, rehabilitation, and consultations with individuals concerning communication disorders. Specialized audiological evaluations may include auditory brainstem response (ABR), otoacoustic emissions (OAE), tympanometry, and auditory processing (AP).
Practicum Sites: The Baylor University Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic serves as one practicum site for our students. Additional local practicum sites include Joy C. Reynolds Preschool Language Institute, Baylor Aphasia Language Institute, Waco ISD, Hillcrest Medical Center, Providence Medical Center, Scott & White Medical Center, Temple VA, Healthsouth Rehab, and other public schools in the area.
At the end of ones graduate work, a full-time internship is completed in a facility beyond those supervised by the BSLHC. Presently, we have contracts with 132 facilities spanning the nation, from east coast to west coast. Contracts presently exist in such places as California, Washington, Michigan, Kansas, Massachusetts, Louisiana, Florida, Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, New York, North Carolina, and Rhode Island. New facility contracts are established on an as needed basis.
The Baylor University Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic is a professional clinical division of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. All clinical faculty are certified by American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and are licensed by the State of Texas.
