Karen Zediker

Karen Zediker's professional work and personal life are both grounded in the practice of dialogic communication. She is committed to the process of engaging in, teaching about, and facilitating genuine dialogue in the sense introduced by Martin Buber. Living out the principles of dialogue in the classroom, her writing, parenting, and day-to-day activities continue to be an on-going challenge.

Karen's way of being-in-the-world is relational and her work with students, colleagues, family, and members of the community reflect her basic ontology. Karen is currently a full-time lecturer at the University of Washington. Her teaching and research explore the interdependence of theory and practice. Current research interests include communication ethics, classroom communication, and communication in/about pregnancy.
