W. Barnett Pearce (B.A., Carson-Newman College, M.A. & Ph.D., Ohio University) Barnett is a founding member of the Public Dialogue Consortium, co-Principal of Pearce Associates, and member of the Faculty, Human and Organization Development Program, The Fielding Institute. He has consulted with communities and organizations, facilitated public and private meetings, and trained professionals in North and South America, Europe Asia, Australia, and Africa. He
served as Chair of the Department of Communication at the University
of Massachusetts, Amherst, and Loyola University, Chicago. His most
recent book, with Stephen Littlejohn, is Moral Conflict: When Social
Worlds Collide (Sage, 1997). Barnett was a Fulbright Fellow in Argentina
in 1997 and a Senior Visiting Scholar at Linacre College, Oxford University,
