APA Format: Citing Sources from the Internet


Follow this model in listing an article in an Internet-only journal:

 

           Fredrickson, B.L. (2000, March 7).  Cultivating positive emotions to optimize health and  well-being. 

 Prevention & Treatment, 3, Article 0001a.  Retrieved November  20, 2000, from

http://journals.apa.org/prevention/volume3/pre0030001a.html 

 

 Be sure to include article number, if applicable, directly after the volume number. Following the volume number, write the date of retrieval from the world wide web, then the web address.  Note that there are no page numbers, and there is not a period after the web address.
