Fall 2004

November 6, 2004

This semester, The Magellan Society teamed up with the fraternity Lambda Phi Epsilon to do volunteer-work at the Waco Public Library.  The outdoors courtyard and surrounding garden areas needed some maintenance, so the Magellan Society and the men from Lambda Phi Epsilon raked leaves, picked up trash, swept walkways, planted flowers and small shrubs, and added mulch to the garden areas.  The outdoors area around the library was very beautiful and clean after we helped spruce it up.  The local community appreciates the work we've done.

This semester, The Magellan Society along with Phi Theta performed service at the Waco Center for Youth.  The Waco Center for Youth is a state-sponsored facility that houses and treats adolescents with emotional or behavioral problems.  The hallways of the Center needed to be repainted, and Steppin' Out volunteers helped to repaint part of the building.
