Baylor Earth Week
Environment

In cooperation with other organizations, Baylor hosted an Earth Week in which many aspects of environmentalism were presented to students on campus. Participating organizations included The Magellan Society, The Environmental Concern Organization, Student Government, and many more. Earth Week events included environmental speakers in the SUB, an art fashion show consisting of apparel made from recyclables, a dorm recycling competition, displays on the fountain mall and on Fifth Street, Stomp Fest featuring Recycled Percussion, and more!

The Magellan Society, ECO, and Student Government stood on Fountain Mall in front of a display of trash with the environmental fact "The average college student produces 640 pounds of solid waste each year. That means here at Baylor, there are approximately 8.3 million pounds of solid waste produced each year." The organizations handed out flyers with shocking environmental facts to students in between classes. Approximately 50 signs with shocking environmental facts were posted throughout campus, mainly on Fountain Mall, Burleson Quadrangle, and along Fifth Street.
