Baylor Football Block Draw

As a social event, The Magellan Society tries to attend a Baylor Football game at least once in the Fall semester to show support of our team.

BU vs Texas A&M

October 30, 2004

The Magellan Society showed school spirit in the amazing game between Texas A&M University and Baylor University.  Although the Aggies nearly outnumbered the Baylor Bears in the stands, the large turnout spurred on an excitement that resulted in the closest, most exciting game of the season.  The Bears and the Aggies often tied each other, especially in the second half.  When the clock ran out of time, the Aggies and the Bears stood at 27 points each to tie the game.  Overtime commenced, and the Bears scored to beat the Aggies by one point!  The game ended with a score of 35-34, and the Aggies watched in shock and awe as the Baylor fans rushed onto the field to tear down the goalpost, which is apparently the tradition in any conference game win.  The students then proceeded to carry the goal post back to campus, and then it was cut up into small pieces to be given out to the fans as souvenirs.

BU vs. Texas Tech

Homecoming 2003

November 8, 2003

The Magellan Society showed their support of the Baylor Bears football team by having a block draw on Saturday, November 8, in the game versus the Texas Tech Red Raiders.  This also happened to be Baylor's Homecoming game.  In addition to showing school spirit and pride, Magellaners got a chance to get to know one another through this social activity.  This also offered us a chance to promote our organization by wearing our TMS Gold Rush shirts and other Magellan attire.  The cold weather and slight rain did not stop us from having a great time.
