Children in Armed Conflict Awareness Campaign

Without going into the politics of things, the Magellan Society gave a brief overview in the form of an awareness campaign on the situation of children in armed conflict. The Magellan Society organized a window display in the Bill Daniel Student Center on Baylor's campus to present the situation to passersby.

All over the world children are maimed, deprived of a stable future, and even used as child soldiers. The United Nation's Universal Declaration of Human Rights proclaims rights such as security, free education, and free conscience; however, few are the states that follow them. Children are the first victims of armed conflicts: they are often forced to flee their homes, defend their families because their fathers are killed, or even serve in an armed organization in order to secure a little pay for food. There have been multiple conventions addressing the situation, but few of them have had a successful result. As of now, even if the armed conflict is over, children in such areas are psychologically damaged or killed by left over mines. What should be done?...I guess it is up to you and me.
