Baylor University Resources
The following resources are available only to those currently enrolled
at or employed by Baylor University University. For Baylor-authenticated,
off-campus access to these go to the Libraries'

- Community of Science -- COS brings
together scientists and researchers at more than 1,600 universities,
corporations and government agencies worldwide, providing tools and
services that enable these professionals to communicate, exchange information
and find the people and technologies that are important to their work.
These services include: COS Expertise®, the database of detailed,
first person profiles of more than 480,000 R&D professionals; COS
Funding Opportunities, the largest source of grant information
on the Web; COS Abstract Management System, an online publishing
solution for universities and professional societies; and customized
access to a range of professional reference databases including U.S.
Patents, MEDLINE, AGRICOLA, and GeoRef, among others.
- InfoEd International
(SPIN and
SMARTS/GENIUS)
-- SPINcurrently contains information from more than 1,200 different
sponsoring agencies, which together fund over 10,000 separate funding
opportunities. All of the information on SPIN is obtained directly from
the sponsoring agencies to ensure the integrity of the information.
Each funding opportunity is updated on SPIN as the sponsoring agency
comes out with updated or revised information, which is typically on
an annual basis. GENIUS is an expert profiling service that is used
in conjunction with SMARTS, an electronic matching and funding opportunity
notification system that provides investigators with a direct and targeted
electronic link to comprehensive, current U.S. Federal, non-Federal
and international research funding information.

- GNET-L -- GrantsNet Info and Updates discussion group.
- GRANTS -- Focuses on all aspects of grants and foundations, including
grant seeking in education, health care, human services, arts/humanities,
public/society benefit, environment, animals, science, technology, international
affairs, social science, and religion are permissible topics.
- GRANTS-L -- To promote external funding for international education
and research.

Domestic Assistance -- A directory of Federal programs, projects,
service and activities which provide assistance or benefits to the American
Public. It contains financial and nonfinancial assistance programs administered
by departments and establishments of the Federal government.

- Chronicle Guide to Grants -- This provides
a selected list of fellowships, grants, institutes and workshops, and
papers taken from an extensive list of forthcoming deadlines that appear

- Foundation Center

excellent starting point for accessing grants-related information and
resources on the Internet.
- J. S. Guggenheim Foundation -- Provides fellowships
for advanced professionals in all fields (except the performing arts)
for individuals, not students, institutions, or organizations.
- Idealist -- Contains links to over 15,000
organizations, publications and directories in 90 countries and all
50 US states. Also provided is a comprehensive listing of Tools for
Nonprofits, including sections on legal, fundraising, and management
issues.
- International Research & Exchanges Board (IREX)
-- Provides field access for US specialists to scholars, policy makers,
and research resources on the states of Eurasia, Central and Eastern
Europe, and Mongolia and designs and implements training programs to

Subject Hub for Fellowship & Post Doc Opportunities -- Administers

Writing Tools for Non-Profit Organizations -- Provides step-by-step

- Philanthropy Journal Online -- The digital effort of the Philanthropy
Journal, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit newspaper bringing you news and information
about the nonprofit sector. It aspires to bring the nonprofit sector

- Search Engine for

of Research Administraters (SRA) Grants Web -- Provides additional

- TRAM -- TRAM is a service initially developed
by the Texas Research Administrators Group (TRAM). It contains a search
engine for locating funding opportunites from many different agencies.
The funding information is updated daily. TRAM also contains a set of
grant application forms collected from various sources, as well as standard
agreements for subcontracts, non-disclosures, licenses, and links to
other servers related to research funding and administration.
