Photoduplication Services and Request Form
To request photoduplication services, read the following and fill out the request form below.
LIMITATIONS AND PUBLICATION
1. The Director of
Baylor Collections of Political Materials (BCPM) reserves the right to restrict
or refuse photoduplication of such items as may be damaged by reproduction,
or which are otherwise unsuitable for reproduction.
2. BCPM does
not sell reproductions. The fee paid by patrons is charged exclusively for services
and materials expended in photoduplication. Reproductions are made solely for
purposes of study and research, and in lieu of loan of the materials. Only single
copies will be made.
3. Color or black
& white photocopies may be requested. Only positive (black on white) reproductions
will be provided to patrons. The cost of any necessary negatives must be paid
by the requestor, but all negatives will remain the property of Baylor University.
4. Reproductions
supplied from materials in the holdings of BCPM may not be sold, loaned or in
any way transferred to any other organization, library or individual, nor may
permission from the Baylor Collections of Political Materials for their use
as source material for citation be transferred to any other individual or institution.
5. All reproductions
provided by BCPM will be of the best quality possible from the originals. Patrons
are reminded, however, that originals which are faded, stained or otherwise
damaged may fail to yield clear reproductions.
6. Materials
reproduced from the holdings of BCPM may not be used for publication without
due regard for rights of literary property, both common law and copyright, and
for the law of libel. The Director of BCPM should be consulted concerning the
availability of the materials for publication.
7. Permission
for publication of materials from the holdings of BCPM will be for one-time
publication only after submission of the Permission
to Publish form.
8. Citation of source for materials will be: Baylor
University Collections of Political Materials. Waco, Texas. When
applicable, as in the case of manuscript or archival holdings, the title of
the specific collection should precede the general citation. If materials
from BCPM holdings should become a significant or major resource for a publication,
we request that a copy of the published work be presented to BCPM.
COPYRIGHT NOTICES
9. The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, U. S. C.) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use", that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of the copyright law.
PAYMENT AND SHIPPING
10. Terms of payment for reproduction
services shall be established when orders are placed. Please ask for a payment
itemization.
11. Baylor
University is not responsible for loss or damage in transit of forwarded orders.
