The physical arrangement of the computer teaching lab has recently been under some scrutiny. Is there a "best" way to create or update lab space to maximize student learning? Does the librarian need to change or alter the teaching process in response to the physical environment? This program will offer practical insights to teaching librarians using computer labs as part of the instructional process. A poster session "Teaching with Technology" will cap the morning's activities. The featured speakers are: Michael Miller Director of Information Services Media Union University of Michigan Ann Arbor, MI Design Considerations for Computer Classrooms Gale Burrow Coordinator of Library Services Honnold/Mudd Library The Libraries of the Claremont Colleges Claremont, CA Learning to Teach in the Learning Room The program will be held at the Marriot New Orleans in the Acadia Room.
