ACRL/IS Critical Issues in Distance Education Committee
Dane Ward, former chair and editor of the committee's new book, opened the meeting with a report.  The book has gone to the publishers and should be out later in the year.  Committee work focused on two short-term projects, both with hopes of publication. A second long-term project involves the revision of the October 1992 article "Information retrieval and evaluation skills for education students".  New technologies and standards have made it necessary to revisit this article.
