- Evaluation Rubrics for Websites Loogootee Elementary West School
- This site developed by Loogootee Elementary West School in Indiana provides three guides for students in primary, intermediate, and secondary grades to use in the evaluation of websites. Using a point system, students are asked to rate the web site based on the following criteria: design, content, technical elements, and credibility. Each grade level rubric adds more criteria for the student to review when evaluating a web site. These guides are very well organized and introduce critical thinking skills.

- Get Ready University of Oregon
- UO's Get Ready site combines interactive tutorials and information guides designed to provide incoming students with and an introduction to information technology. However, information is not limited in focus and should be of interest to many outside UO. Included are tutorials on searching the Web using Netscape Navigator, connecting to UO's online catalog and using other Internet applications.

- This site uses humor to provide a good beginning introduction to use of the Web, geared to no specific audience. There are several lessons, each one short and concise. The text is simple and doesn't crowd the page; the icons are brightly colored There is a glossary of web terms and a troubleshooting guide called "What went wrong".

- The UA Libraries provides a series of guides related to research and the Internet Included are various tutorials and information pages on searching the Internet with Netscape Navigator, using WS_FTP & RN Newsreader and manipulating Internet information with Windows Write.

- Internet Navigator Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library, University of Utah
- The Internet Navigator On-line tutorial class is offered for credit. Each module includes a things-to-do section, assignments, a glossary, and a quiz. Lessons can be dome in sequence or not. Non-registered students can see the quiz but can't submit it for a grade. Traveling the Internet Using Netscape is a tutorial on the WWW. Each topic is about one page long and is strongly visual with little text. Topics can also be accessed through a table of contents.

- Kathy Schrock's Guide for Educators: Critical Evaluation Information
- This site developed by Kathy Schrock, a recognized leader in providing web resources for teachers, provides evaluation survey forms which can be used at the elementary, middle, and secondary school level to help students critically evaluate web resources. These forms developed in yes/no answer format allow the students to evaluate the site using a variety of criteria. Exercises in explaining why the site would be beneficial are also include. In addition to these forms, links providing evaluative criteria for assessing WWW sites and other evaluation tutorials are given. Users can also access Kathy's Home Page which is a comprehensive site for those looking for good web resources enhancing the curriculum.

- A Modular Approach to Teaching the World Wide Web Widener University
- Developed at the Wolfgram Memorial Library at Widener University,the Teaching Pyramid is an excellent resource for Web instructors consisting of 8 self contained teaching modules. Modules topics center around Web basics, the Web as a research tool, searching and evaluation of sources. Each module includes suggested teaching methods, handouts and PowerPoint presentations. Evaluating Web Resources, module seven, is an excellent resource for anyone teaching evaluation skills; it includes teaching materials, links to other evaluation sites and a bibliography of sources related to teaching critical thinking.

- Surfing the Internet on the World Wide WebCornell University
- A nicely designed workshop outline providing users with a basic understanding of the Internet, World Wide Web, and web browsers. In addition, exercises are included to help users understand the fundamentals of browsing the web using bookmarks, understanding URL's and web searching. Links to various search engines allow users to practice submission of a search query. An Internet quiz is provided at the end of the workshop.

- WelchWeb: Guides and Instructions William H. Welch Medical Library
- These guides to the Internet are provided by Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. The tables are simple and fast loading, titles are clear. Information on using e-mail, several telecommunications programs, attaching files to e-mail, the UNIX operating system among other topics are covered. This site would be especially useful to medical students and faculty members, providing information that is sometimes hard to locate.

- World Wide Web Tutorial for First-Time Users Pasadena Public Library
- Designed for first time, in-house users, Pasadena Public's WWW tutorial is a quick one page guide to the Internet using Netscape Navigator 1.1 or 1.2. It includes basics such as scrolling and using the button bar as well as searching and suggested starting points.
