CHECKLIST OF DUTIES: LIRT REPRESENTATIVE TO INSTITUTE FOR INFORMATION LITERACY EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

The LIRT representative to the Institute for Information Literacy Executive Committee (IILEC) serves as a liaison between these two organizations. The LIRT representative participates fully in the activities of the IILEC, which is charged: "To act as an oversight council for the Immersion Program; to review Immersion workshop applications; and to develop a plan for other activities under its responsibility." The LIRT Representative to the IILEC will serve as an ex-officio member of the Steering Committee.


ONGOING DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR LIRT OFFICERS

_____ Attend ALA Midwinter and Annual conferences.

_____ Serve (as an ex officio member) of the Steering Committee.

_____ Monitor LIRT-S and respond to any issues or requests that come up on the list.

_____ Ensure that your contact information is listed correctly on the LIRT Web site.


ONGOING DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR LIRT REPRESENTATIVE TO INSTITUTE FOR INFORMATION LITERACY EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

_____ Participate fully in the activities and initiatives of the Institute for Information Literacy Executive Committee.

_____ Represent LIRT and LIRT's membership and interests to the Institute for Information Literacy Executive Committee.

_____ Keep LIRT Steering committee and membership informed about issues that would be of interest to LIRT.


BEFORE MIDWINTER

_____ Review applications for the Institute for Information Literacy Immersion program.


MIDWINTER MEETING

_____ Attend Institute for Information Literacy Executive Committee meetings (usually Friday 8:30am - 12:30pm and Sunday 9:30am - 12:30pm).

_____ Attend Steering Committee meetings (see: Conference Meeting Schedule for times). At the second Steering Committee meeting, report on the outcomes of the Institute for Information Literacy Executive Committee meetings.


BEFORE ANNUAL

_____ Review applications for the Institute for Information Literacy Immersion program, Track 3.


ANNUAL CONFERENCE

_____ Attend Institute for Information Literacy Executive Committee meetings (usually Friday 8:30am - 12:30pm and Sunday 9:30am - 12:30pm).

_____ Attend Steering Committee meetings (see: Conference Meeting Schedule for times). At the second Steering Committee meeting, report on the outcomes of the Institute for Information Literacy Executive Committee meetings.


POST ANNUAL CONFERENCE

_____ Review and revise this checklist as needed (send comments to Past President).
