Biographical Information on LIRT Program Speakers


Debra Jones is currently the Internet Librarian at Cabrillo College, Aptos, California. She is a noted presenter and author. Instruction librarians may recognize Debra's name from her workshop presentation and self-paced workbook, Critical Thinking in an Online World.

Gail Junion-Metz, is a librarian and the president of Information Age Consultants. She has over 20 years experience as an academic librarian and training officer. She is active in ALA and currently serves as editor of the LITA Newsletter. Gail has been teaching people about the Internet for over five years. She also teaches a course on learning styles and new library technologies. Gail is the author of K-12 Resources on the Internet, published by Library Solutions Press and co-author of Using the World Wide Web and Creating Home Pages, a Neal-Schuman publication. She writes the monthly "Surf-For" column for School Library Journal.

Lynn Sutton is currently the Director of the new Undergraduate Library and Off-Campus Services for Wayne State University. From 1988-1995, she served as Director of the Science and Engineering Library at WSU. Prior to that, she was a health science library director at several health care institutions in the Detroit and Chicago areas. She earned both her Bachelor's and Master of Library Science degrees at The University of Michigan. Lynn is an active ALA member.
