Greg Garrett

Greg Garrett, Associate Professor of English, joined the Baylor faculty in 1989 after receiving his Ph.D. from Oklahoma State University. Winner of the William Faulkner Prize for Fiction, Dr. Garrett is the author of the novel Free Bird and forty short stories in books, magazines, and journals in the U.S., Canada, Australia and New Zealand. He was named the Outstanding Baylor Faculty Member for 1994 by the Baylor Student Congress, and received the university administration's outstanding professor award in 1996. Dr. Garrett teaches fiction writing, film, and American literature classes and directs the Art & Soul and Beall Poetry festivals.
