Diamond Girls is a spirit and support organization for the nationally ranked Baylor
baseball team.

What do Diamond Girls Do?
|

Members of the Diamond Girls squad have many responsibilities. During the fall, the
girls help Coach Smith and the team with recruiting. If recruits are in town for the
weekend looking at Baylor, some girls will be asked to take the recruits to dinner, the
stadium, campus and show them what Baylor life is like. During the spring, members of the squad are what is commonly known as "bat girls" for the team. However, getting bats is not the only responsibility the girls have at the games. They help the fans find their seats in the newly built baseball stadium and stay throughout the game to offer the team support. Members of Diamond Girls also decorate the team's locker room before the big matchups of the season.

Do the Diamond Girls Get to Travel With the Team?

The Diamond Girls travel to some places with the team. The amount of travel depends
how much money was raised during the year. Generally, every year, the Diamond Girls
travel to Texas A&M, UT, and Oklahoma. The most exciting of the trips is the trip to
the Big 12 tournament every May in Oklahoma City.

How Much of a Time Committment is Required for Diamond Girls?
|

Diamond Girls does require a committment, but many of our girls participate in
other organizations such as sororities and Baylor Women's League as well as
work outside jobs. The committment is there, but not so much that our girls
cannot do other things. Generally, however the spring is much busier than the
fall.

How Much Does Diamond Girls Cost?
|

The cost out-of-pocket for Diamond Girls depends on the squad itself. If our girls
do enough fund raising then the cost is very little. If there is not much fund-raising
done, then the girls have to pay for more out-of-pocket expenses. In the past, we
have raised enough money to pay for the trips (hotel) and most of the uniform. Every
year, there is a one-time payment to the spirt fund and that amount is voted on by
the squad.
