A Rabbi Teaches

Introduction

This section of the site is maintained by Rabbi Paula Reimers, a rabbi in the Conservative Movement of Judaism.

She earned her BA magna cum laude from Barnard College in New York. She then pursued graduate studies and received a Master’s Degree in International Affairs and a Certificate in Southern Asian Studies from Columbia University.

She attended the University of Judaism in Los Angeles, and then continued her Jewish studies at the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York. In 1990, she was ordained Rabbi and rewarded a Master’s degree in Jewish Studies.

Since ordination, Rabbi Reimers has served Conservative congregations in California, Arizona and Connecticut. She has participated actively in community affairs. Most recently, she was a member of the Executive Board of the Board of Rabbis of Southern California, Vice President of the Pacific Southwest Region of the Rabbinical Assembly and President of the Burbank Ministerial Association in Burbank, CA.

In May of 2003, Rabbi Reimers left the congregational rabbinate to pursue Doctoral Studies at Baylor University. She is currently a Doctoral Fellow in the Church-State Institute, and assistant to Dr. Marc Ellis in the Center for American and Jewish Studies.
